We will be watching the Texas governor’s race closely today. The drama of the race includes a big spending republican who is leaving the Senate, Kay Bailey Hutchinson. The current governor Rick Perry, who supports the NAFTA Super Highway, which as has upset Texas voters, as well believing in forced inoculations for the controversial cervical cancer vaccine. Of course, Debra Medina, who was shaking things up in the race as the true tea party candidate who fell in the polls after the infamous Glenn Beck interview. The money came in for Medina after the interview, but two polls showed she lost ground.
Here’s the important thing to remember today. To receive the nomination, a candidate must receive 50% of the vote. If they don’t, the race will go to a run off in a few weeks between the top two candidates.
